Check in online
The most convenient way to check in is online on the KLM app or our website. Remember to check the validity of your travel documents.
You can check in online from 30 hours before departure – or 24 hours before departure for flights to the United States. You can check in on our website or app.
Check your travel documents
Make sure to bring the right travel documents for a seamless start to your trip. Remember to check the validity of your travel documents.
This depends on multiple factors, such as your nationality and destination.
Are you a parent or adult travelling alone with (your) minor child? Please note that some destinations require additional documents.
Baggage
You can drop off your checked baggage at the self-service drop-off points or check-in desks.
If you are travelling with hand baggage only and have already received your boarding pass, you can go directly to security. Check the airport screens for your gate number and follow the yellow signs to the entrance of the security area.
Please note: we will only accept hand baggage in the cabin if it’s within the maximum size and weight requirements.
Do you travel with checked baggage? You can drop it off at the KLM desks or the self-service baggage drop-off machines at Schiphol. Please note that you can only check in your baggage the same day your flight leaves. The KLM desks are open between 04:30 AM and 10:00 PM.
No, it is currently not possible to check in your baggage at the car park.

The SkyPriority benefits cannot be purchased as a separate service. SkyPriority is a selection of benefits linked to your ticket or your Flying Blue status.
If available, you can buy an upgrade to Business Class, which allows you to use the SkyPriority area for baggage check-in, drop-off, and security checks. Please note that there’s no SkyPriority lane at Schiphol’s immigration checkpoint.
